The event, which will take place at the Colegio de Caminos, Canales y Puertos between 9.30 a.m. and 5 p.m., will address the relationship between the two sectors, the particularities of their regulation, new energy sources such as green hydrogen, innovation to achieve sustainability and the challenges to achieve energy optimisation. It will also be possible to follow&nbsp;<em>online<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The conference will be opened at 9.30 a.m. by Elena de la Vieja, member of the Board of Directors of AEDyR, and will be developed through five panels and round tables, between which there will be breaks to make&nbsp;<em>networking<\/em>in addition to the lunch. The closing speech will be given by Domingo Zarzo and Mar\u00eda del Carmen Garc\u00eda Panadero, president and vice-president of AEDyR, respectively.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Domingo Zarzo, president of AEDyR, highlights the importance of this conference, \"given that prominent players from both sectors will be represented. In addition, the current situation and future prospects of two strongly interconnected and fundamental fields for economic and social development will be addressed from very different points of view, which are going through a crucial moment to achieve, through an optimisation of the efficiency of their facilities and processes, the sustainability that is currently demanded by public administrations and society itself, and which need medium and long-term planning, as well as a clear regulation that is adjusted to the reality of their activity\".<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The first panel will be&nbsp;<strong>State of the art of the water-energy nexus'.<\/strong>which will take place between 9.40 a.m. and 11 a.m. It will present the current situation of the relationship between water and energy and the particularities of the regulation of each of them. In addition, green hydrogen will be discussed as a new source of energy, for the generation of which water is essential. Moderated by Domingo Zarzo, president of AEDyR, the participants will be Eduardo Orteu,&nbsp;<em>Of Counsel<\/em>&nbsp;in the Environment Area of the Public and Regulatory Affairs Department of&nbsp;<strong>G\u00f3mez-Acebo &amp; Pombo<\/strong>Carlos Ballesteros, director general of the&nbsp;<strong>Association of Energy Service Companies<\/strong>&nbsp;<strong>(ANESE)<\/strong>Antonio P\u00e9rez, founder of&nbsp;<strong>Chance and Choices (CHAO)<\/strong>and Marina Holgado, Technical Director\/CTO of the&nbsp;<strong>Spanish Hydrogen Association (AeH2)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Between 11.30 and 12.30, the panel will be held at&nbsp;<strong>Equipment for sustainability'.<\/strong>. In it, the main suppliers of the water and energy sector will present the characteristics that make their equipment sustainable and contribute to increasing their added value and differentiate them in an increasingly competitive market. It will be moderated by Jon Beristain, member of the Board of Directors of AEDyR, and will be attended by: Jes\u00fas Rivas, global director of Water and Sanitation at&nbsp;<strong>WEG<\/strong>a representative of&nbsp;<strong>DANFOSS<\/strong>Antonio Casa\u00f1as, Senior Account Manager of&nbsp;<strong>DUPONT WATER SOLUTIONS<\/strong>and Jan Benecke, Head of Reverse Osmosis Business Engineering of&nbsp;<strong>AQUAPORIN<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The round table&nbsp;<strong>Current Perspective on the Water-Energy Nexus'.<\/strong>which will take place between 12.30 and 13.30, will close the morning session. It will bring together the main public entities related to water to debate from different perspectives, based on their activities and experiences, on the synergies, advantages and challenges that arise when carrying out the integrated planning of these two sectors. Miguel \u00c1ngel Sanz, member of the Board of Directors of AEDyR, will moderate Carolina Almuzara, head of the Energy Transition and Circular Economy Unit of the&nbsp;<strong>Catalan Water Agency (ACA)<\/strong>Gregorio Arias, Deputy Director for Energy of the&nbsp;<strong>Canal de Isabel II<\/strong>Esther Torvisco, deputy director of Asset Management at the&nbsp;<strong>Bilbao Bizkaia Water Consortium<\/strong>&nbsp;<strong>(CABB)<\/strong>Bel\u00e9n Ramos, head of International Affairs at the&nbsp;<strong>Spanish Association of Water Supply and Sanitation (AEAS)<\/strong>&nbsp;y&nbsp;<strong>Spanish Association of Urban Water Services Management Companies (Asociaci\u00f3n Espa\u00f1ola de Empresas Gestoras de los Servicios de Agua Urbana)<\/strong>&nbsp;<strong>(AGA)<\/strong>and Carlos Miguel, head of the Llobregat Desalination Plant.&nbsp;<strong>Ter-Llobregat Water Supply Company<\/strong>&nbsp;<strong>(ATL)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Following a break for a working lunch, the panel&nbsp;<strong>Innovation on the road to sustainability<\/strong>&nbsp;will address, between 15:00 and 16:15, the role of innovation in advancing sustainability and in improving and perfecting the design and construction of facilities. Representatives of Spain's leading international construction companies will be taking part: Ana S\u00e1nchez, managing director of&nbsp;<strong>Tenerife Rafts<\/strong>&nbsp;<strong>(BALTEN)<\/strong>who will explain the project for the decarbonisation of the public service of irrigation water supply on the island of Tenerife; Jorge Malfeito, Director of Water Innovation at&nbsp;<strong>ACCIONA<\/strong>who will speak on 'Desalination by reverse osmosis: cutting-edge technological innovations'; V\u00edctor Monsalvo, head of the Eco-efficiency Area of the Innovation and Technology Department at&nbsp;<strong>AQUALIA<\/strong>The true value of water: innovation in sustainable energy resources'; Mercedes Calzada, R&amp;D&amp;I technician from&nbsp;<strong>SACYR WATER<\/strong>who will speak on 'Sustainable and efficient solutions for the water of the future. The Sacyr experience', and Ignacio Gonz\u00e1lez, renewable energy technician from&nbsp;<strong>GS INIMA<\/strong>with the presentation 'The BOCO photovoltaic plant (Chile). Aspects to be taken into account in Operation and Maintenance and its impact on energy supply'. Alejandro Zarzuela, member of the Board of Directors of AEDyR, will moderate the interventions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The day will conclude with a round table on&nbsp;<strong>Future challenges on energy optimisation<\/strong>The event will bring together energy efficiency and energy saving specialists from different fields to exchange ideas and try to set goals for the future in energy efficiency. Specifically, Jos\u00e9 Carlos Gil, Director of Sales Europe at&nbsp;<strong>TURING;&nbsp;<\/strong>Baltasar Pe\u00f1ate, head of the Water Department of the&nbsp;<strong>Canary Islands Technological Institute (ITC)<\/strong>Jaime de Miguel, territorial manager of the Cuenca del Segura of&nbsp;<strong>Aguas de las Cuencas Mediterr\u00e1neas (ACUAMED),&nbsp;<\/strong>and Jos\u00e9 Antonio Membiela Mart\u00ednez, CEO of&nbsp;<strong>IGNIS P2X \/ IGNIS H2O.<\/strong>&nbsp;They will be moderated by Mar\u00eda del Carmen Garc\u00eda Panadero, vice-president of AEDyR, who will also be responsible, together with the president of the Spanish Association of Desalination and Reuse, Domingo Zarzo, for drawing some brief conclusions and closing the
