The five Designations of Origin of Galician wine, Ribeiro, Valdeorras, R\u00edas Baixas, Monterrei and Ribeira Sacra, were the main protagonists of the event. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lavinia.es\/es\/productos\/showroom-5-gallegas-en-madrid-1\">held in the Lavinia wine space<\/a> (c\/Jos\u00e9 Ortega y Gasset 16). The event was attended by Ana Pastor, President of the Congress of Deputies. In addition, Nava Castro, Director of Tourism of Galicia, and Matilde Asian, Secretary of State for Tourism, were in charge of welcoming the friendly 5 Galician women.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The campaign aims to promote the consolidation of Galicia as a quality tourist destination to visit all year round. \"The DOs condense the best of Galicia, a quality destination that continues to grow. Last year we reached almost 5 million tourists and this year we are already 3.2% above those figures,\" said Nava Castro.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Ana Pastor wanted to highlight the originality of the campaign because \"it will help to awaken interest in the flavours and aromas of our land. I like to highlight the value of our Galician wines. Galician wineries today recover important traditions of local wine, cutting-edge oenological knowledge and a particular love for wine culture. Our wines are the right ones to round off a unique gastronomic experience\".<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">For her part, Matilde Asian, highlighted the value of wine tourism as an element that stimulates the economy, diversifies the offer and de-seasonalises demand. \"It has an extraordinary potential and is a priority and cross-cutting product in Spain's tourism promotion strategy, as it has a growing weight in demand, especially in the interior.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/proacomunicacion.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/5-Gallegas-en-Madrid.jpg\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-large wp-image-7588 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/proacomunicacion.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/5-Gallegas-en-Madrid-1030x687.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1030\" height=\"687\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Taking as a starting point the emotional and rational values implicit in the concept of \"Galician wines\" and in the \"Galicia\" brand, Turismo de Galicia wanted to give personality to each of the designations of origin, highlighting the oenological and tourist resources of each destination in a sympathetic way, \"because Galicia is tradition, but it is also avant-garde\", according to Nava Castro.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Those attending the presentation ceremony of the campaign were able to enjoy Galician gastronomy thanks to the chef <strong>Lucia Freitas<\/strong>. In addition, <strong>Cristina Mantilla<\/strong>The oenologist in charge of selecting the wines for the meal explained to the attendees the characteristics of each appellation and its importance in the wine sector. The event was also attended by various representatives from each of the five designations of origin, who shared during the meal the identifying attributes of the destinations, such as gastronomy, craftsmanship and tourism.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The five Galician women brought in their suitcases the wines of each of the designations of origin they represent and the artisan creations of Montse Li\u00f1ares, Idoia Cuesta, Paula Ojea, Ilda Amoedo, Mar\u00eda Pereira de Dosel, Noroeste Xoias, Elena Ferro and the redeiras de la Illa de Estrela de Corme. All of those responsible for taking these 5 Galician women to Madrid were women, as were the protagonists of the campaign. All this is part of a sum of details that have adorned Lavinia with an original scenography.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">After the presentation in Galicia last August, the campaign has already started in Madrid and will end next Monday 9th October. In the restaurant area of Lavinia, a Galician menu and tapas will be offered daily during the month of the campaign. Turismo de Galicia will also have a tourist information point offering details of the designations of origin and destinations.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The concepts \"denomination of origin\" and \"apellation d'origine\" are two feminine terms in Spanish and French, an aspect that has also encouraged the campaign \"Five Galician women in Madrid\" to have its replica in France in \"Cinq galiciennes \u00e0 Paris\", which will begin on Thursday 12 October and end on Wednesday 15 November.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In addition, the five Galician regions have gained even more prominence this week, as Galicia is in the running to become Wine Region of the Year 2017, a recognition awarded by the prestigious US wine magazine Wine Enthusiast as part of its annual Wine Star Awards.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/proacomunicacion.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/Llegada-Ana-Pastor.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-large wp-image-7591 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/proacomunicacion.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/Llegada-Ana-Pastor-1030x687.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1030\" height=\"687\" \/><\/a><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Turismo de Galicia present\u00f3 ayer la campa\u00f1a de promoci\u00f3n vitivin\u00edcola 5 Gallegas en Madrid, logrando un \u00e9xito de participaci\u00f3n gracias a los m\u00e1s de 40 medios acreditados en un evento en el que colabor\u00f3 en su organizaci\u00f3n Proa Comunicaci\u00f3n.
