{"id":77,"date":"2012-11-12T12:37:39","date_gmt":"2012-11-12T11:37:39","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/proacomunicacion.es\/?p=77"},"modified":"2012-11-12T12:37:39","modified_gmt":"2012-11-12T11:37:39","slug":"hands-2012-charity-auction-to-bring-drops-of-life-to-africa","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/proacomunicacion.es\/en\/subasta-benefica-hands-2012-para-llevar-gotas-de-vida-a-africa\/","title":{"rendered":"HANDS 2012 Charity Auction to bring Drops of Life to Africa"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: left;\" align=\"center\"><strong>HANDS 2012, Next Tuesday, 20th November, at 19.30h in the afternoon, the headquarters of <\/strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.vitra.com\/es-es\/contact\/showrooms\/espana\/madrid\/\"><strong>VITRA<\/strong><\/a><strong> in Madrid will bring together artists, designers and prestigious firms in a charity auction to raise funds for development projects in Africa.<\/strong><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The <strong>HANDS Charity Auction<\/strong> is one of the private initiative's awareness-raising actions aimed at informing society about the evolution of the situation in <strong>Kenya<\/strong> y <strong>Ethiopia<\/strong> in addition to <strong><em>to raise funds that are entirely earmarked for<\/em><\/strong> to push <strong>aquifer development projects<\/strong> in these areas through the <strong>Emalaikat Foundation<\/strong>. Hands of solidarity that we meet and unite to the <strong>missionaries <\/strong>Africa, to celebrate a solidarity event.<\/p>\n<p><strong>HANDS<\/strong> is an opportunity to meet and get to know the missionaries who have been working in the field for more than <strong>25 years of continuous presence in Kenya and Ethiopia.\u00a0 <\/strong>During this time, together with the local communities, they have built more than 74 rafts and 83 rock dams, as well as promoting numerous actions for access to drinking water and basic sanitation.\u00a0 <strong>HANDS is also our tribute to them.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The event begins with a presentation of the actions carried out and projects of the <em>missionaries <\/em><strong>of the<\/strong> <strong>Community of St. Paul the Apostle (MCSPA)<\/strong> and the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.fundacionemalaikat.es\/\"><strong>Emalaikat Foundation<\/strong><\/a> in Kenya and Ethiopia.<\/p>\n<p>This will be followed by an auction of 20 lots, donations from artists, designers and couturiers, conducted by the former CEO of Sotherby's, <strong>Pablo Melendo<\/strong>. After the end of the auction, a <strong>charity raffle<\/strong> of the more than 100 prizes donated by different firms from among the attending public. The <strong>25 donation of the entrance fee to HANDS<\/strong> entitles you to a raffle ticket for the charity raffle. Anyone wishing to purchase a larger number of tickets will be able to do so.  A cocktail reception will be offered during the event, courtesy of Rigatoni Eventos.<\/p>\n<p>Participating in the charity auction are: the <strong>fashion designers<\/strong> -Angel Schleseer, Lorenzo Caprile, Miguel Palacio, Roberto Verino, Baruc Coraz\u00f3n. <strong>Artists<\/strong> -Claudia Stilianopoulus, Elena Garrigues Walker, Jaelius Aguirre, Carlos Sanchez Alonso, Johina, Jose Gomzalez Onieva. <strong>Decorators<\/strong>Pepe Leal, Isabel Lopez Quesada, Diego Rodriguez. <strong>Antique dealers<\/strong>: Anmoder, LA Studio, Iraida Domecq. <strong>Other<\/strong> <strong>prestigious firms<\/strong>Eleonora Amadei, Calvin Klein, Hugo Boss, Pepe Jeans, jewellers Helena Rohner, Grassy perfumes Loreal, Shiseido, Estee Lauder, La Mer, Lierac, Carla Bulgaria. In addition to <strong>consultancy firms<\/strong> <strong>marketing and communication companies, media agencies, hotel and restaurant companies, wineries<\/strong> .... more than 200 participants who use their hands as a<strong>\u00a0 extension of their heart, and leave an imprint on the people of Africa.  Hands that come together in this act<\/strong>to design beautiful projects <strong>and bring hope to children<\/strong> their mothers in Turkana, helping them to <strong>the Missionaries of the Community of St. Paul the Apostle (MCSPA).<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Ana L\u00f3pez de Letona, organiser of this auction for the Emalaikat Foundation, stressed that \"without water there is no development.<\/strong>.
