If improvisation is one of the worst enemies in crisis communication, the crisis manual becomes the best of our allies. It is a dynamic document that serves as a roadmap and establishes the basic response mechanisms for dealing with a crisis. It should contain the main activities to be followed before, during and after a crisis.
