PROA Communicationthe consultancy firm specialising in building and managing the reputation of companies and their executives, has hired Dolors Marco to head the new Health, Pharma and Medical Technology area, a unit that was created as part of the consultancy firm's expansion and consolidation project.
This incorporation has been reported by different media such as La Razón, La Vanguardia, Top Communication , PR News o The Advertiser.
With 30 years of experience in the health sector, more than 20 of which in management bodies, Dolors Marco has been the corporate director of reputation and communication of the Clínica Universidad de Navarra at its Pamplona and Madrid sites for the last five years. Under this area, Dolors has managed the Departments of Communication, Reputation, Institutional Relations, Corporate Social Responsibility and Marketing, the latter in a transversal relationship for the last two years. Originally from Catalonia, Dolors has been based in Madrid for 20 years and holds a degree in Information Sciences from the University of Navarra and a postgraduate degree in Business Communication from the Universitat Pompeu Fabra.
As milestones, in 2017 Dolors Marco set up the first Reputation Department in a Spanish hospital; she has maintained the Clínica as the Spanish private hospital with the best reputation (MRS 2016-2021), with the challenge of the "one hospital, two sites" model; she initiated an International Reputation Plan, which in 2020 placed the Clínica among the 50 best hospitals in the world and has worked on the reputation of the management model, unique in our country (the Clínica, among the 40 best Spanish companies MERCO 2022).
During the pandemic, it initiated a new communication model based on service communication from the approach of a permanent crisis scenario, which placed the Clínica among the 5 most socially responsible Spanish companies, and established a "correspondent" relationship model with the media that had an economic value of €832M in the 2019-2020 academic year.
Throughout her career, Dolors Marco has worked in all areas of healthcare: public administration (as Head of Press for the Catalan Ministry of Health), hospital groups (USP Hospitales and Grupo Hospitalario Quirón, where she was at the forefront of the first major merger of Spanish private healthcare), consultancy (communication actions) and multinationals (the Fresenius corporation -pharmacy, medical technology, chronic care centres, in a model of agreement with the public system-).
As a result of this experience, he has extensive experience in the use of communication as a tool for building reputation, managing intangible assets, handling major crises and managing teams - mostly off-site - with a focus on results.
Dolors has defined this change in her professional career as "a commitment to a consultancy model that permanently seeks excellence, through rigorous and friendly communication, in which I can contribute the experience accumulated over 30 years at the service of our clients, to accompany them in the growth of their reputation, their visibility and their social recognition".
For Lucía Casanueva and Valvanuz Serna, managing partners of Proa: "The incorporation of a professional of Dolors Marco's calibre allows us to reinforce Proa's corporate discourse. Compared to other consultancy firms in our sector that aim to grow, at Proa our objective is to offer the best consultancy service on the market, and this can only be achieved by incorporating senior talent into the project".
"The area of health, pharmaceuticals and medical technology was one of our unfinished business. With the incorporation of Dolors and the team that accompanies her, we are able to offer the sector a consultancy that provides strategy and efficiency in the implementation of proposals," say the managing partners of Proa.
