Just half an hour ago, the Fundación Telefónica Espacio presented the association Friends of Spain in Germany. The driving force behind this initiative is Germán Buceta and I think we are to be congratulated. This is a movement led and promoted by civil society. It seeks to increase interest and knowledge of the Spanish reality in Germany in order to strengthen the credibility of our country and our business fabric. The main means of communication and action is the web 2.0 platform to foster dialogueThe German government's role is to create content and facilitate political discussions and debate. Fernando Vallespín, Professor of Political Science and International Relations at the Autonomous University of Madrid, pointed out that "Germany will only continue to show solidarity with the countries of the South if reforms continue to be carried out and if the reforms produce results". Vallespín also stressed that "if we are celebrating Spanish-German friendship, something we took for granted, it is because something had broken down". "We have to prevent the fracture that exists between northern and southern Europe from continuing to deepen, and this fracture can only be overcome through greater and better cooperation". Íñigo Méndez de Vigo gave the closing speech, pointing out that "we are looking for stability in the Germans and setting them as an example, because the Germans are looking for coalitions to be able to carry out reforms. Germans do not focus on what separates them, but on what unites them". The Secretary of State concluded the event by saying that "the great success of the creation of Europe has been the European Union. We must recover the community spirit by giving an important role to the European Commission". Congratulations to Friends of Spain in Germany for this initiative. This is what we do Marca España very well.
