Ignacio Diaz Cortes (Hearst Magazines) was crowned champion in the skiing competition a year after being injured in the first edition.. A year ago, after achieving the best time in the first round, Ignacio was injured in the second. And in this edition, after achieving the third best time in the first round, he swept the second one, becoming champion ahead of Pablo Egea (MARCA), who repeats his position on the podium, and Borja Fadón (Esdiario), who also repeats third place. A story of overcoming the odds that ended with a happy ending for the new champion. For his part, Andrés Novo (AS), champion in the first edition, was just off the podium on this occasion, achieving fourth place.

As the main curiosity in the skiing modality, the first five results (in addition to those mentioned above, the fifth was Roberto Adeva of ADSL Zone), managed to beat last year's best result, a time of 39'38 with which Andrés Novo was proclaimed champion. In fact, the five best runners went under the 39-second barrier in this order: 1st Ignacio Díaz (37'16) 2nd Pablo Egea (37'74) 3rd Borja Fadón (37'78) 4th Andrés Novo (38'88) and 5th Roberto Adeva (38'97).

Snowboarding was included for the first time in the Madrid SnowZone Championship for journalists. and 9 medium (11 participants) were accredited in this mode. These riders descended earlier due to the needs of the snowboard in the high competition sport. Marcos Chaves (Unika FM), Jorge Gala Díez (RTVE) and Carlos Marinho (Unika FM) formed the podium of a modality that will grow in future editions. All the winners received medals, feeling like elite athletes on an unforgettable day.

In the words of Javier Villar, General Manager of Madrid SnowZone, "The main objective of this edition was to make the journalists feel again as if they were elite athletes, using the format of high competition in both skiing and snowboarding". For its part, María González, Marketing Director of Madrid SnowZoneHe emphasised that "The second edition has met the expectations of the participants. We have included snowboarding as a modality, which was one of the main demands of the first edition, and more sponsors have joined the event. Thanks to this we have been able to give away more gifts and raffle more prizes"..

The day began for the participants with a clinic given by the TECALP ski competition team technicians, who gave them recommendations on how to tackle a slalom competition. Then, after sharing a chocolate with churros to warm up, at 11:30 a.m. the competition began with two heats, which resulted in three winners in each category. In parallel to this, the little ones could enjoy different activities in the snow for all ages taught by the monitors of Madrid SnowZone.
