PROA Comunicación has helped Mary's Meals, the NGO that received the 2023 Princess of Asturias Award for Concord, to manage the communication strategy for the screening in Madrid of the documentaries 'Zero Hunger' and 'Hagan Lío', which was attended by Magnus McFarlane-Barrow, the founder and CEO of the NGO.
The documentaries 'Zero Hunger', produced by Mary's Meals, and the fifth episode of the series 'Hagan Lío', from the production company Infinito + 1, by Juan Manuel Cotelo, dedicated entirely to this organisation, were screened at the Cine Verdi in Madrid. Both aim to raise awareness about hunger and the work of the humanitarian organisation in its fight to eradicate it.
PROA has collaborated with the NGO in the preparation and dissemination of the press release on these screenings and on the activity of its founder in Madrid, where he met with volunteers, collaborators and donors.
During his stay in Spain, which coincided with the tenth anniversary of this organisation in our country, where it is chaired by Elisalex Lowenstein, Magnus McFarlane-Barrow recalled the critical situation in Ethiopia and warned that the consequences of the current famine in the country could be worse than those of the 1980s. Specifically, he said that there are regions, such as Tigray, whose authorities assure that 91% of the population is exposed to the risk of starvation and death if they do not receive immediate humanitarian aid, for which he urged that immediate measures be taken to avoid generalised famine in the country.
