PROA participates in the Dignity and Justice Association's medal ceremony --

PROA, through its managing partner, Lucía Casanueva, was present last Friday at the awarding of the medals of the Dignity and Justice Association. Lucía Casanueva was in charge of presenting this event, which recognises people who have stood out in the fight against terrorism and the defence of victims.

She was joined by Valvanuz Serna, managing partner, and Roberto Ruiz Ballesteros, director of the Litigation Unit. "PROA is here because it understands that it is very important for civil society to support the victims of terrorism and, in particular, this association, which has done so much good for democracy in the judicial and social fields. The awards presented today are the awards of dignity," Casanueva said during the presentation.

In this edition, Lieutenant General and former Director of the National Intelligence Centre (CNI) Félix Sanz Roldán was awarded the gold medal "for its recognised role in the fight against ETA terrorism". This is the highest distinction awarded by the association, which was presented by its president, Daniel Portero. The same award was given posthumously to the National Police Inspector María José García Sánchez.

In addition, representatives of the State Security Forces, victims of terrorism, the judiciary and the media were honoured: César Luis García Garrido, chief inspector of the National Police; Jesús María Zuloaga, deputy director of La Razón; Manuela Simón Fernández, corporal 1 of the Civil Guard; Joaquín Vidal Ortiz, president of Autonomous Associations of Victims of Terrorism; José Miguel López Moure, captain of the Civil Guard; Enrique Molina Benito, prosecutor of the National Court, and Raquel Inocencio Vicálvaro, chief inspector of the National Police.

Attendees at the conference

The event was attended by prominent representatives of high state institutions such as the chief prosecutor of the Audiencia Nacional, Jesús Alonso, and the current director of the CNI, Paz Esteban, as well as the deputy ombudsman, Teresa Jiménez Becerril, and the Ciudadanos deputy Miguel Gutiérrez.

Also in attendance were political representatives such as the parliamentary spokesperson for Vox, Macarena Olona, together with Rocío Monasterio - spokesperson for the same party in the Madrid Assembly - and the PP's communication secretary, Pablo Montesinos, among others.

The Wanda Metropolitan Stadium: Achieving Iconic and Unique Brand Status in Record Time

The fact that this stadium, inaugurated in September 2017, was chosen to host the final of the Champions League wasn't only because of its technological advances, seating capacity, or accessibility facilities. Since the Community of Madrid approved the notion to build a new athletics stadium in 1988 at a location...

Artificial meat and the necessary pre-publicity

I am commenting on an article in Expansión with quotation marks, and my comments without inverted commas, trying to detoxify. "It is that meat consumption has reached alarming levels". Bullshit. Consumption has fallen, as has milk consumption. Thousands of farms were closed in Spain last year. "Livestock farming is a...

Spain, better placed than other countries in the face of the impending economic slowdown

The Spanish economy is resisting the onslaught of the global slowdown better than expected. This is one of the main conclusions of the presentation given by the economist Emilio Ontiveros, president of Analistas Financieros Internacionales (AFI) at a recent event on Independent Management held in Madrid. Global uncertainties Ontiveros began by alluding to...
