Why do we take drugs?

Dr. José Antonio Rodríguez Piedrabuena, a specialist in psychiatry and psychoanalysis, reflects on the drugs and addictions that lead human beings away from their genetic programming in the second video of the five made for PROA Comunicación

"Our genetic programming seeks simple, natural pleasures, nothing to do with what we can find on the supermarket shelves, nothing to do with video games, social networks, or aspects that do not represent a reward. The real reward is to be healthy, to survive, to live together, and to be emotionally and mentally stable," he says.

Why do we take drugs?' aims to provide us with the keys to a modern and updated vision of the origin and causes of human beings falling into infinite modalities of addictive behaviours and bonds. The book reviews and synthesises the experience of twenty years of reflection and work on the subject. It dispels misunderstandings and superficial visions. In the second part, he expands on his professional work with these people. He has put his thoughts and reflections side by side with those who have been working on the subject for ninety years and are still working on it today. José Antonio Rodríguez Piedrabuena is a member of the International Psychoanalytical Society. The programme is supported by the London Group Analysis, the Spanish Society of Psychiatry and the Institute of Psychosomatic Studies and Medical Psychotherapy.

José Antonio R. Piedrabuena -- The global problem of having politicians

They create a distrustful and disoriented society that does not know where the truth is because polarization and psychopathic deception have been cultivated and used as their crutch and support. Situated in negligence, authoritarianism or in an ideology that could not be developed within a consensus, a unity, a common...

The artificial meat and the necessary prior publicity

I comment an article published in Expansión quoting it, and my comments without quotes. "Meat consumption has reached alarming levels." Bullshit. Consumption has dropped, as has milk consumption. Thousands of farms were closed in Spain last year. "Livestock accounts for 14.5% of total greenhouse gas emissions and takes up two...

Social networks, key in the strategy to build a lovemark

For brands, social networks are key elements in their communication strategies due to their capacity to generate affective and lasting links with their consumers and potential customers, members of their digital community. These virtual communities are made up of a group of individuals who follow a brand on social media.

Economic outlook for 2020: improved trade, high liquidity and low risk of recession

In a recent conference organised by the ASEAFI financial advisory board in Madrid, Arcano Partners' economist, Leopoldo Torralba, explained his vision of the economy for the year 2020. A year that a priori appears better than the previous one, with less geopolitical uncertainties and glimpses of recovery in the European...

Emotional intelligence

In 1959 we had among us Professor Juan Rof Carballo, who wrote books such as Cerebro Interno y Mundo Emocional; Urdimbre Afectiva y Enfermedad and Cerebro Interno y Sociedad. What about Goleman and the rest of the crowd and the enthusiasm of the uninformed for emotional intelligence?

Do you grow or are you entertained?

One of the biggest problems in the market for management skills training and coaching services is that we easily confuse entertainment with growth. Not only clients, but even the trainers themselves confuse the art of growing as a person and as a leader with the sheer fun of playing the game.
