Marqués del Atrio Group has entrusted Proa Comunicación with the development of its communication strategy in Spain. The Rivero family's Riojan winemaking group began its winemaking journey in 1899 in Arnedo. Since then and thanks to the passing of several generations, the family winery, always faithful to its legacy, has experienced a growth that has led it to position its wines in the most demanding markets in the world.
Currently, the fourth and fifth generations are leading a business that, with a history of more than 100 years, two main wineries in the DOCa Rioja and a presence in the country's main appellations, has positioned itself as one of the most prominent winemaking groups in the national and international arena.
Since 2016, the group has been one of the sponsors of the National Professional Football League, with Marqués del Atrio being the official wine of the LaLiga Santander and LaLiga1I2I3 championships. This is the first winery to sign a collaboration agreement with this sporting entity.
Among its partners, in addition to the Rivero family, is the Changyu Pioneer Wine group, the leading wine group in China and one of the 10 most important in the world, with a market capitalisation of more than 3,000 million euros. Changyu Pioneer Wine has played a key role in the international expansion of the Marqués del Atrio group's wines.
