Proa Comunicación supports the organisation and promotion of the Spanish Snowshoeing Championship, which will take place on 7th March in the Fuente Dé Cable Carlocated in the Liébana region within the Picos de Europa National Park.
The race for the national snowshoeing title, organised by Xtreme Peakswill be an exclusive spectacle, unique in the north of Spain. The event has counted on the confidence of the FEDME (Spanish Federation of Mountain Sports and Climbing) to develop the Spanish Snowshoeing Championship during the three years prior to the World Championship and these last two years once again this renowned national body is once again placing its hopes in Picos de Europa to achieve an outstanding competition.
The competitive event will bring together a total of 120 athletes, while the night racquetball could reach the figure of 120 athletes. 400 participants as last year, coinciding again this year with the full moon. The night racket, like the competition, will take place in the surroundings of the Lloroza Lakes and the Canal de San Luis. In order to carry out this unique experience, the Fuente Dé cable car will be open for extra hours to allow all participants who want to experience this spectacle in a unique environment to go up and down.
For the competition, the course will consist of 8.5 kilometres and +400m of elevation gain and anyone who wishes to participate can sign up, as no ranking is required to take part. While the non-competitive night racquet race will be 4.5 kilometres long and will bring together a large number of winter sports enthusiasts for whom many surprises have been prepared.
