The Spanish Association for the Promotion of the Solar Thermal Industry seeks to make the strategic value of solar thermal energy visible.
Protermosolar (Spanish Association for the Promotion of the Solar Thermal Industry) has selected Proa Communication as a strategic partner to highlight the value of this renewable technology at a time of transformation for the energy sector. The collaboration will focus on disseminating and raising awareness of the decisive role of solar thermal in the energy transition and its contribution to Spain's objectives of decarbonisation, competitiveness and technological leadership.
The consultancy firm will provide sector expertise and a senior team focused on generating tangible results in reputation, a relationship plan and visibility to key audiences.
Óscar Balseiro, secretary general of Protermosolar, points out that "solar thermal is at a decisive moment to contribute more intensely to the stability of the electricity grid, expand thermal storage and produce renewable energy in a flexible manner, especially during night-time hours". He adds that "in this context, we are seeking to strengthen our relationship with the main stakeholders in the sector, to strengthen information relations and to make the benefits of this technology known to a wider public. For this reason, we trust PROA comunicación for its proven capacity and strategic vision".
As part of its commitment to strengthening its communication activities and dialogue with society, Protermosolar recently incorporated Vanessa González Blasco as head of this department, and she will be responsible for leading the coordination between the association and the PROA Communication team to maximise the institutional projection and dissemination of solar thermal energy.
"This new stage in communication will allow us to amplify our informative work and strengthen the recognition of the benefits that solar thermal generates for the country as a whole," says González Blasco.
Solar thermal power is characterised by the use of direct solar radiation by means of concentrating mirrors to generate electricity in a clean and sustainable way. Its main differential advantage lies in its thermal storage capacity, which allows it to supply energy in a flexible way, at night, and synchronously, i.e., providing firmness to the grid thanks to the inertia of its turbines. Solar thermal power reduces energy dependence on imported fossil fuels, creates wealth and skilled employment in rural areas, and can operate in a complementary and hybrid manner with other renewable and storage solutions.
For Lucía Casanueva and Valvanuz Serna Ruiz, managing partners of Proa Comunicación, "adding Protermosolar to our client portfolio is an opportunity to support the growth of an industry that is fundamental for the energy and industrial future of Spain, and reinforces our commitment to high-impact sectors and technological transformation".
