LAUNCH OF THE ZENZOE ROBOT

Challenge

In order to guarantee COVID-19-free spaces, ASTI Mobile Robotics developed a COVID-19 viral load neutralising robot equipped with ultraviolet lamps created by BOOS Technical Lighting during the confinement stage. The device disinfects the environment through which it has circulated, destroying 99% of the germs, due to the light's ability to reach any surface and in record time.

The aim was to showcase ZenZoe as the reference system in the fight against the virus, highlighting its effectiveness and non-toxicity. Until now, the methods used in this work were based on the use of chemical and highly polluting products. The robot developed by the two companies from Castilla y León allows the area to be disinfected in minutes, leaving no residue, and providing greater respiratory safety for users.

Solution

Even with this potential, there were already some devices with ultraviolet light on the market, which posed a greater challenge for positioning the product. A very powerful strategy was then proposed in the field of information relations, focused on achieving the greatest possible presence of the project in the media, both general and specialised, with the aim of highlighting the enormous capabilities of the robot and, consequently, generating the necessary credibility to facilitate the positioning of this pioneering technological initiative in the market, as well as that of its promoters. The presence in the media consisted of the preparation of different informative materials such as press releases, in-depth reports, analyses and opinion articles. Interviews were also arranged with ZenZoe managers in order to position the robot in the media and public opinion. The focus of these actions was on general, national and regional media, as well as economic media and sectors of interest to the two development companies.

Results

The effectiveness of the robot in the fight against COVID-19 and the notoriety received by its presence in the media has allowed ZenZoe to become the benchmark automated disinfectant solution for both the public and private sectors, not only in the Spanish market, but also in the German and French markets, with production being committed for several months in view of the economic reopening.
