CNMV appoints Antonio Belmonte as new director of communications

The CNMV has decided to appoint Antonio Belmonte Atienza as the CNMV's new Director of Communications. With his appointment, the CNMV aims to strengthen its communication policy and to ensure that information of public interest is disseminated as widely as possible.

Antonio Belmonte holds a degree in Information Sciences from the Complutense University of Madrid and an Executive MBA from the Instituto de Empresa. He has extensive experience both in the media and in corporate and institutional communications. Prior to joining the CNMV he was Banco Popular's Press Directorwhere he was responsible for relations with the media, including the press, digital and audiovisual media.

Belmonte also has almost 20 years of solid experience in the financial media. In his career, he has been Director of the financial information television channel Bloomberg TV, where he developed his career as a manager in the City of London for more than 8 years. He then moved to Madrid. He has also worked in leading newspapers such as Expansión, El Mundo and Cotizaliaas well as in the communications agency Proa Communication.

The CNMV's new Director of Communications also has extensive experience as a speaker at numerous conferences and round tables organised by various financial institutions, universities and business schools.
