Proa Comunicación has once again successfully organised the XIV Scientific Conference of the Alicia Koplowitz Foundation held on 24 and 25 October at Mutua Madrileña. Attendance at the conferences, as well as media coverage, was once again excellent. On the last day, Alicia Koplowitz, president of the foundation, presented grants totalling 400,000 euros to eight research projects on child and adolescent psychiatry and neurosciences and neuropaediatrics.
In this year's edition, 74 research projects applied for grants, of which 42 were in Psychiatry, 21 in Neurosciences and 11 in Neuropaediatrics. Three External Assessment Boards were responsible for examining and making the selection. The Research Grants are aimed at teams working in Spanish hospitals, universities or research centres, whether or not in collaboration with national or foreign teams. As a prerequisite, there must be a Spanish principal investigator linked to one of these centres during the two-year duration of the project, who will be the sole recipient of the grant.
