-- Solintal Proa Sailing Team, bronze in the Spanish J80 Championship, which makes them winners of the J80 National Circuit 2022.

The Solintal Sailing Team, sponsored by PROA, finished third in the Spanish J80 Championship - Gestilar Trophy, held in Galicia with almost 40 sailboats competing. The Cantabrian team took third place on the podium behind Juan Carlos Ameneiro's Alboroto, which won the national championship, and Javier de la Gándara's Okofen.

Once again, the crew formed by Ignacio Camino, Armando Gutiérrez, Cristóbal Piris and Abelardo Quevedo, was very solid and aspired to be crowned winner from the first day, finishing in second place. During the second day they maintained their chances, despite losing second place, and ended the weekend, after seven races completed, maintaining third place which assured them a place on the podium.

"We had a chance until the last race to win the Championship, but the local crews knew how to interpret the conditions of the race course better and took the final victory. It has been a very tight Championship where small differences have been key to the final result".

Thanks to the points obtained, the Solintal Proa Sailing Team has been crowned Champions of the J80 Circuit 2022, as they lead the national ranking of the category. A recognition to the team work and effort throughout the season, in which the Cantabrian team has been consistent, adapting to all the particularities of the water and the weather, always being a strong candidate for the title.
