In defence, legitimacy also counts

Defence, like other strategic sectors, moves today in a space where industry, innovation, public policy and social sensitivity converge.

here are sectors in which growth does not depend solely on investing more, innovating better or gaining size. It also depends on something less tangible, but increasingly decisive: being understood, being legitimate and occupying a clear place in the public conversation. Defence is one of the most obvious examples today.

Europe has entered a new phase. A phase marked by the sustained increase in investment, The need to reinforce capacities, the pressure to gain scale and the growing importance of technology. Spain is already part of this movement, and with it the sector is acquiring greater dynamism, greater institutional centrality and also greater exposure. However, to think that this new cycle will only be played out in the budgetary, industrial or technological spheres would be an incomplete reading.
