Aníbal Villalba holds a PhD in Political Science from the UNED with the doctoral thesis "La ciberseguridad en España 2011-2015. A proposal for an organisational model". He holds a Master's degree in Public Policy Analysis and Management from the Carlos III University of Madrid. He is Advisor to the President of the National Cybersecurity Council and Deputy Director General at the National Intelligence Centre. He has been a Vocal Advisor in the Cabinet of the Presidency of the Government (2009-2013). Among others, his previous postings include NATO, the UN, the European Union and the National Intelligence Centre (CNI). He has extensive experience in international operations, mainly in Uganda and the Balkans. In addition, he has been a lecturer in Strategy and International Relations on the General Staff course.
